I’ve spent most of my life on a dance floor — from my early days in South Africa to the world’s most iconic ballrooms. As a former Amateur Latin Champion and Professional Finalist, and now as a coach, adjudicator, and mentor, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing this art form from every angle.

But while dance has shaped my path, it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Away from the spotlight, I’m also a wife, a mother to a bright and funny teenage daughter, and the proud owner of a much-loved family dog who often keeps us all grounded. Home life is full of warmth, humour, and everyday chaos — a beautiful counterbalance to the poise and precision of the dance world.

I don’t travel quite as much as I used to, as family life rightly takes priority these days. But when the opportunity arises, I still thoroughly enjoy teaching and adjudicating internationally — it remains a part of the dance world I treasure deeply.

These days, I’m just as interested in legacy as I am in competition. I want to pass on more than technique — I want to pass on values. I believe in tradition, in kindness, in quiet excellence. I believe that presence matters more than performance, and that the way we carry ourselves — on and off the floor — shapes the dance world for the better.
